Kliimanjaro Wild Safaris and Tours is a locally-owned and locally-based tour company in Moshi, Tanzania, home to Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa.  Our owner and Executive Director, Laurent Kinabo, was born and raised in Moshi and is a member of the local Chaga Tribe.  Mr. Kinabo obtained his Tourism degree in ____ from ____________.  He has worked in the Tanzanian tourism industry for over a decade, climbing Kilimanjaro numerous times, leading dozens of safaris and other trips and developing relationships with local guides, restaurants, hotel operators and other providers.

After working in the industry for over a decade, Mr. Kinabo determined to start his own company.  Reflecting on his experiences, relationships and observations, Mr. Kinabo determined to build upon and go beyond the types of offerings that most tour companies provide.  That's why you'll find some unique aspects to Kilimanjaro Wild:

  • Local Ownership and Operation.  A lot of tour companies are owned by foreign companies, but Kilimanjaro Wild operates out of a local office.  When you book, when you arrive, and when you go on your outings, it is all with locals, including Mr. Kinabo.

  • Full Concierge Services.  Most tour companies handle your itinerary and book your outings.  Kilimanjaro Wild picks you up at the airport, brings you to Moshi or Arusha, and gets you to and from your hotel ourselves.

  • Safety and Local Guides. We have talked to a lot tourists about things that they wondered about before visiting Tanzania. The answers tend to center on shopping, safety and food.

    • We will go shopping with you to be sure that you get what you need at the right price.

    • We know local hospitals, policemen and emergency providers, so if something unexpected happens, we will help ensure you get the professional assistance you need.

    • We know all of the local restaurants, so we will take you to the best places for an authentic African meal.  In addition, if you're craving pizza, Indian take-out, or another cuisine, we know where you should go for that, too.  And since we provide local transport, we'll get you there, too.

  • Emergency Phone.  We want you to come to Tanzania with confidence, not worries.  As an extra measure of assurance, we provide you with an emergency phone with our pre-programmed number for emergency calls or texts.

  • Local Investment. As noted above, Kilimanjaro Wild is locally owned and operated, so your fees stay local and help the Moshi economy.  In addition, Kilimanjaro Wild supports a local youth sports center, Kliimanjaro Wonders, by donating 10% of our revenues to provide opportunities to play competitive sport to local youth.  For more information, see www.kilimanjarowonderssc.

Mr. Kinabo and Kilimanjaro Wild are built around the principals of customer service and client first, as we want you to have a safe, fun and memorable visit to Tanzania.
