Half-Day Outings

Adventurers come to Tanzania for a number of reasons, including Safaris, Mt. Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar.  While these multi-day experiences will be the centerpiece of most Tanzania visits, there are other outings available in and around Moshi and Arusha (the two cities closest to Mt. Meteruni Waterfall
Hike and Coffee Tour

Visit the tallest waterfall in Tanzania (150+ meters) by taking a 45+ minute trail hike down to the waterfall, where you will experience beauty and a refreshing spray. After climbing back out, enjoy an authentic lunch in a local Chagga village and/or tour a local coffee plantation.

Kikuletwa Hot Springs

You will take a drive to a unique, natural hidden pool at the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro.  The pool is a naturally warm spring available for relaxing and swimming.  While you can stay longer, most visitors will spend an hour or two in the pool before enjoying a picnic lunch and returning in the early afternoon.

Tanzanite Mine Adventure

Tanzanite is a blue/violet mineral found only in Tanzania, about 90 minutes from Mt. Kilimanjaro.  You will visit the mine, learning about this unique gem, the mine's operations and the mine's history.  After a lunch, you will return in the early afternoon.

Chagga Village Visit

The Chagga people are one of the larger tribes in Tanzania, and they have a long and proud history.  You will travel to a local Chagga village where you will meet local villagers to learn about their daily lives and the history of their tribe.  After enjoying an authentic Chagga meal, you will return in the early afternoon.
